In your Internet Identity, you can protect your recovery phrase. This means that you can set your recovery phrase so that it cannot be removed or changed unless you authenticate with it.
To protect your recovery phrase, create or log in to your Internet Identity. Create a recovery phrase if you don’t currently have one.
Then select the device settings gear in the recovery phrase section.
In the recovery phrase menu, select Protect.
Enter your recovery phrase and Continue.
Your recovery phrase is now protected!
You have the option to delete your recovery phrase, but that is not recommended in most circumstances.
Since the protected recovery phrase is an opt-in feature, existing recovery phrases can be removed by any device until protected. If you don’t have a recovery phrase, you won’t be able to use this feature.
For your security, it is recommended that you not only protect your recovery phrase, but keep it safe and secret as well. If you lose your recovery phrase, you or anyone else won’t be able to remove or change it.
